Nature. The main source of inspiration for me. Creative. Living. Rebellious.
In the process of earthwork, while exploring suitable wild clay in the forests of Slovakia, I became convinced of the beauty of the natural. How simple and beautiful is the very first “vessel” of a plant – the earth. Uneven, loose, each natural zone has its own. Perfect.
Every day, from the moment we wake up, we play a role. Different games, different rules. In an effort to meet the expectations of society, we hide the true, the natural behind a mask, in the present times in the literal sense.
My Dome object demonstrates Hiding. Through this object, I look into the image of an individual’s personality in the digital world. The creative cycle for this object began by recreating the texture and earthy shape. Then I moved on to wheel throwing and hand-building. The object has two parts. One part is a cup with a simple form: for water. It is hidden in the Dome part where the plant/flower is placed.
The vessel itself is a ceramic “piece of earth” that combines the concept created by nature and the idea of a hidden, covert spirit that turned out to be essential. Without which, a beautiful living flower cannot “grow out of the earth”.
