Gaze #4 digital reproduction of a collage from thee project: I Get So Lonely, Life In Magazines.

With the collages my interest was to explore the magazines as objects, focusing on the material aspect as well as the content. I would- glue the pages and then tear them down one by one either with my hands or a knife. The amount of images produced for these publications is massive, it is almost impossible to memorize a single image due to the
overall mass. The relationships between that massiveness and singularity made me think about the image itself. How it’s made, used, and consumed. They all seem to have a predetermined life cycle. My aim was to comment on that cycle and to express the fragility I felt while working with them. For me, the collages feel like they are dissolving.
